WARNING: Keep out of reach of children.
Luckily, one treatment with Tapeworm Dewormer (praziquantel tablets) for cats should be adequate to clear out the tapeworms. However, steps should be taken to treat and prevent fleas on the cat (and other pets in the home) and remove rodents around the home or premises in order to prevent reinfection; otherwise, retreatment will be needed.
WARNING: Keep out of reach of children.
Isolated incidents of either salivation or diarrhea have been reported following treatment with Tapeworm Dewormer (praziquantel tablets) for dogs but were considered non-significant. If these signs are observed and they persist, consult your veterinarian.

The directions for Tapeworm Dewormer (praziquantel tablets) for dogs are simple! You can offer the proper dosage tablet(s), based on label directions, to your dog by placing the tablet(s) in a pill pouch or include in a type of food your dog will readily eat. Fasting is not necessary or recommended.
WARNING: Keep out of reach of children.
Deworming simply means getting rid of intestinal worms (parasites) in your dog. Worms can sound gross and embarrassing, but most dogs will get at least one type of intestinal worm at some point in their lives. Tapeworms are common in dogs. Deworming medications contain ingredients that break down and debilitate worms so they can be expelled from your dog’s body.
Tapeworm segments are easily seen around your pet’s anal region or in their poop, similar to grains of white rice. Of course, it’s not always obvious that your dog has tapeworms, so the best way to identify a problem is through an exam performed by a veterinarian.
The most common way dogs get tapeworms is from having fleas. Dogs that hunt or chase small rodents and rabbits (even in their own backyard) may also be at risk of infection from tapeworms.

The directions for Quad Dewormer (praziquantel/pyrantel pamoate/febantel) for dogs are simple! Designed to make dosing and administration easy, the chewable, beef-flavored taste tabs are almost like a treat experience for your dog. You can offer the proper dosage directly in your dog’s mouth or in a small amount of food. Fasting is not necessary or recommended.
WARNING: Keep out of reach of children.
Profender® (emodepside/praziquantel) can be applied once every 30 days. One dose will kill and remove adult tapeworms and adult and immature stages of roundworms and hookworms. Due to your cat’s behavior and environment (going outdoors, hunting, exposure to fleas, etc.) reinfection is always a possibility in which case retreatment may be necessary. The most common way your cat got tapeworms is from having fleas, which often carry immature tapeworms. Cats infested with fleas will frequently ingest them as they groom themselves (a daily behavior) and become infected with tapeworms. Cats that hunt small rodents (in your house or backyard) may also be at risk of infection from tapeworms.
Isolated incidents of either vomiting, bloody stool or watery/profuse stool have been reported following treatment with Quad Dewormer (praziquantel/pyrantel pamoate/febantel) for dogs. If these signs are observed and they persist, consult your veterinarian.
You also might notice worms appearing in your pet’s stool. While this may be alarming, it’s a good thing because it means the medication is flushing the worms out of the dog. Make sure to always pick up pet waste, using gloves and washing hands after.
Do not use in pregnant animals.

Drontal® Plus (praziquantel/pyrantel pamoate/febantel) is given by mouth and available in two forms: Tablets and Taste Tabs®. Dogs can pick up worms (and fleas and ticks) during their daily activities like walks or playing at the dog park. Digging and eating dirt, chasing rodents and having fleas can all lead to worm infection.
Tapeworm segments look similar to grains of white rice and are easily seen stuck in your cat's hair under the tail or by the back legs, or in their poop. Of course, it's not always obvious that your cat has tapeworms, so the best way to identify a problem is through an exam performed by a veterinarian.

- Small: for cats weighing 2.2-5.5 lbs.
- Medium: for cats weighing >5.5-11 lbs.
- Large: for cats weighing >11-17.6 lbs.
Profender® (emodepside/praziquantel) can be used on cats and kittens that are at least 8 weeks of age and weigh at least 2.2 lbs. Cats over 17.6 lbs. should be treated with the appropriate combination of tubes. In this situation, talk to your veterinarian for the appropriate combination of tubes.
CAUTION: Federal (U.S.A.) law restricts Profender® (emodepside/praziquantel) to use by or on the order of a licensed veterinarian.

The unique combination of ingredients in Drontal® Plus attack the worms in your pet’s intestinal tract. When given to a dog, the active ingredients concentrate in the intestines, coming into direct contact with the worms. The worms will disintegrate, break apart, or become paralyzed and then be expelled in your pet’s stool.

CAUTION: Federal (U.S.A.) law restricts Profender® (emodepside/praziquantel) to use by or on the order of a licensed veterinarian.

Dogs currently infected with intestinal parasites often need a few rounds of deworming (this is especially important in puppies) to adequately clear out infections. This is because an infected dog will often harbor different life stages of worms, some of which will not be killed by the first dose. Your veterinarian can help provide you with an appropriate deworming strategy that best fits your dog’s needs.
