The active ingredients in Profender® are absorbed topically through your cat’s skin reaching the intestinal tract to kill and remove worms.
Always consult your veterinarian. The presence of parasites should be confirmed by fecal examination or based on clinical signs and history.

Applying Profender® for cats to your feline friend is simple and convenient. Before applying an Elanco topical product, check the weight range and minimum age on the package to choose the appropriate product for your cat.

How to apply Profender® for cats:
- Remove tube from package
- While holding tube in an upright position, remove the cap from the tube
- Turn the cap over and place the other end of the cap onto the tip of the tube
- Twist the cap to break the seal and then remove cap from the tube
- Part the hair on the back of the cat’s neck at the base of the head, until the skin is visible
- To ensure the entire contents of the tube are administered, place the tip of the tube on the skin and squeeze the entire contents directly onto the skin; lift the tube away from the skin before releasing pressure on the tube

Profender® (emodepside/praziquantel) is a prescription only product. Because of this, your cat will need an exam from a veterinarian and veterinarian-pet owner relationship needs to be established before it can be dispensed. Once a prescription is attained, Profender® can be purchased at veterinary clinics and online pharmacies.

Due to your cat’s behavior and environment (going outdoors, hunting, exposure to fleas, etc.) reinfection is always a possibility in which case retreatment may be necessary. PRECAUTIONS: Safe use of this product has not been evaluated in cats less than 8 weeks of age or weighing less than 2.2 lbs. (1 kg), in cats used for breeding, during pregnancy or in lactating queens.
Profender® comes in three different sizes based on your cat’s weight:
- Small: for cats weighing 2.2-5.5 lbs.
- Medium: for cats weighing >5.5-11 lbs.
- Large: for cats weighing >11-17.6 lbs.
Profender® (emodepside/praziquantel) can be used on cats and kittens that are at least 8 weeks of age and weigh at least 2.2 lbs. Cats over 17.6 lbs. should be treated with the appropriate combination of tubes. In this situation, talk to your veterinarian for the appropriate combination of tubes.

Profender® contains two active ingredients: emodepside and praziquantel. Emodepside is an ingredient found only in Profender® and is effective against adult and immature stages of roundworms and hookworms. Praziquantel, an ingredient used in several other effective deworming products, effectively removes tapeworms.
