Topical flea treatments such as Advantage® II and Advantage® XD are applied to your pet topically, spreading over the skin and hair. These products kill fleas through contact, so fleas do not have to bite your pet to die. With oral flea medications, fleas have to bite your pet and ingest the medication before they are killed.

No, Advantage® II and Advantage® XD are indicated for the treatment and prevention of flea infestations. To protect dogs against ticks as well as fleas, check out K9 Advantix® II. DO NOT USE K9 ADVANTIX II ON CATS.

Yes, you can bathe your pet 24 hours after applying Advantage topical flea treatments. Ensure your dog or cat is fully dry at the time of application.

There is no expiration date required on the packaging by the EPA for Advantage® II, Advantage® XD, or K9 Advantix® II for Dogs. We recommend the product should be kept in its original packaging and stored as directed on the label.

Do not use K9 Advantix II on cats.
